George T. Stagg 2013 Bottling Note

Autumn is always exciting. Not because it means Christmas is on the way and Halloween is just around the corner, but because it means the yearly edition of George T. Stagg Bourbon is released. 2013 is no different, because here it is! Feast you eyes on the beautiful bourbon, aged for no less than 15 years and although it is a lower abv than previous years, it still weighs in at a sizable 64.1% abv.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: A thick spread of honey on well done toast. Not burnt, but crispy.

Palate: Big lashings of toffee and chocolate followed by peppery dashes and coffee warmth.

Finish: Very long, with toasty hints creeping in right at the end.

Overall: Despite the lower abv, it still packs a punch that followers of the George T. Stagg bottlings will love.

Mr T Lau

If you can get your hands on this, it's worth any amount.

You're gonna like this one. I can tell...

This is a monster. N: An initial burst of ripe galia melon, then the fruity fun is playfully interrupted by a raging hit of toasty clove and black pepper. It dares you to sip it. P: Orange zest and dark coffee are married with classy spice and a lively twist of mange-tout giving a fresh green note. F: lingering. Marzipan comes through as the taste thinks about getting its coat. Almost outstaying it's welcome, the finish hangs about as long as the mother-in-law. Except you're not complaining.
