Originally released for the Travel Retail Market in the first half of 2016, Port Charlotte 2007 CC:01 is a peated expression from the Bruichladdich distillery which has been fully matured in French oak casks!
This bottle was part of a private collection - if you'd like more detailed photos just get in touch!
Smoky oak lingers throughout, but sweet vine peach and juicy plum notes are up-front and lively.
Toasted almond and meaty malt leading into smoky bacon. Warming spices, zesty orange and fresh red apple.
Vanilla, leather furniture, lemon meringue.
$37.76 - $150.63
I get strong lemon and citrus, tart plum juice. A bit of orange peel. Strong peat and a mineral touch. Almond, vanilla, icecream? Beautiful oily mouthfeel. Overall a winner. A bit like Lag 8, but fruitier without losing the peat punch. A new favorite has been gained today
A great addition to have for your palate. This 8-year old heavily peated Scotch is finished in Cognac barrels and that French oak is something quite apparent, especially in the finish. It is well balanced with tones of peat, leather, hazelnuts and a touch of citrus. Possible to drink neat, add a dash of water and you'll have a myriad of angles to discover in this. Can be heavy on the oak for some. Well worth the price.
Love this whiskey! Tasted it at the Bruichladdich Distillery and bought a bottle at the duty free on the way home. It’s perfect with a peat and sweet combination.
Outstanding, fantastic combination of peaty and sweet tastes. Bought it on a ferry between Sweden and Denmark. Must make the trip again and buy more before it is sold out.
The most perfect dram. Smoke, sweetness and a intensely satisfying finish. My favourite whiskey of all time, bought 2 bottles straight after tasting it.
