Octomore 8yo 2011 #13327 Bottling Note

An indie Octomore, which is the name for Bruichladdich's heavily peated whisky! This smokey single malt was distilled in May 2011 and aged for eight years in a single refill bourbon hogshead. It was then independently bottled by Douglas Laing in May 2019, with an outturn of 330 bottles at 48.4% ABV for the Old Particular series.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: A big hit of maritime peat, with salty mineral seaweed, a hint of liquorice, apple, oak char and bonfire ash.

Palate: Earthy peat now, with smoked cereal, roasted and slightly burnt coffee bean, black pepper and grass.

Finish: Smokey tobacco, dried mango and of course a good helping of lingering peat smoke.
