Octomore 5.1 Bottling Note

There is no stopping the black peat train that rattles along tracks of mulch that is Bruichladdich's Octomore range. This peat beast is topping an almighty 169ppm (that's phenol parts per million, how we measure how smoky a whisky is). What more needs to be said except it's almost 60% abv and is really damn peaty!

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

This Octomore is surprisingly coastal with waves of stormy sea water crashing into cliffs of peat and turf. Beneath this smoulder ember sof coal and burning heather. The palate entertains a distinct fruitiness, reminiscent of citrus and tropical fruits before a finish of Icelandic ash clouds concludes this monumental dram.

Bruichladdich Octomore 5.1 Reviews

Absolutely Fab

Tried this when we were at Bruichladdich a month ago. Just bought a bottle. Significantly more peaty than our bottle of Octomore 2.1, not sure which we prefer.
