This is a wonderfully rich, sherry-matured Bruichladdich from Douglas Laing's Old Malt Cask range. It was distilled in February 1992 before a 20 year maturation in a single refill sherry butt. Bottled in November 2012, there are just 363 bottles available.
Nose: Spiced, aniseed-led nose with hints of manuka honey, creamy barley and a touch of sherry.
Palate: Sherried, ripe, fruity palate with just a touch of peat smoke. Woody, oily.
Finish: Big spices and dried herbs. A hint of camphor and wood smoke.
Overall: Malty, rich and rather herbal!
