Nose: Summer; the best way to describe its nose is to say summer. There are hints of sweet melon being handed out on a hot summer’s day with the smell of fresh cut grass drying under the sun.
Palate: An oddly pleasing medley of sweet tropical fruits and salted, creamier tones. There is a hint of aniseed with the added sharpness of a strong marmalade, with a shadow of ginger, thrown in. A touch of smoke can be detected at the edges.
Finish: A distinctly savoury end with almonds featuring prominently, but with a bite at the end that speaks of pepper.
Overall: A nicely smooth whisky, sweetness tempered by its savoury qualities and with a hint of smoke.
