A Pedro Ximinez (sic) finished Bruichladdich. This is part of a release of 6,000 bottles of 17 years old whisky.
Nose: Honey and fruit off the bat, with big soft grapey notes, very sherried; you can almost taste the juicy Christmas pudding and gentle spices, with an intensely creamy quality.
Palate: Orchard fruit, baked in a crumble, with Demerara sugar, cinnamon and almond. This is a stunningly decadent whisky, with oodles of charm and sweetness.
Finish: Good length, fades away on cinnamon, sherry sweetness and toffee.

The best whisky I have ever tasted in my life- bar none. All hail Jim McEwan!

Wow - an underlying citrus with a surge of chewy sherry, and a slight spicy kick mid way through, but smooth with a hint of biterness from the 17 years in wood at the end. Delicious dram - I just wonder if it is quite worth the £50 plus tag... press me and the answer is yes. 85/100.
