Braeval 30yo #15542

Brilliant Braeval single malt, distilled back in August 1991 – around about the same time Bryan Adams and Right Said Fred were battling for the top spot in the UK singles charts. After 30 years of slumber in a single cask, the whisky was bottled up by Douglas Laing for its independent Xtra Old Particular series, releasing a total outturn of 230 bottles in January 2022.

Beautiful aged whisky
Lovely stuff this, lots of rich flavours, leather and a slight mustiness that comes with some aged whiskies. Has some orchard fruit notes also with a light spice.

Handles the ABV very well. Would love a bottle if it was in budget.
