This was distilled at the Braes of Glenlivet distillery (Braeval) in 1994 before an 18 year maturation in a single cask (cask number 159165). It was bottled by Berry Brothers and Rudd in 2012.
Nose: Big, rich notes of ripe fruit and intense Black Forest honey. Hints of sweet spice, dried banana and custard.
Palate: Creamy sweet palate with hints of violets, allspice and toasted oak. A little tannic grip develops.
Finish: Thick spice and cooked fruit.
Overall: An intensely oaky whisky from Speyside.
