Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Pebble beaches, fresh ginger, menthol and a few wafts of apple blossom.

Palate: Waxy orange at first, before salty coastal air and toasted barley. Medicinal peat comes along on the mid palate.

Finish: Fruity elements become more prominent during the long finish.

Briny Tangle 1990 (bottled 2015) - Wemyss Malts (Bowmore) Reviews

A smoke licorice delight

Loved it but for once, I'm not sure I agree with MOM's tasting notes. This is notable for its smoke -- from the nose through finish. To me the nose was smoke, with tar on back. The palate was salty, smoke and peat; some iodine and salt. Filled mouth with smoke and peat and then smoky licorice. The finish was long, very long and full of more of smokey licorice. Maybe some fruity but not overmuch. Fabulous.
