Bowmore's 4th release of the 10 year old, bourbon matured Tempest. Decribed on the box as being "as fresh as the sea-air with wisps of peat smoke and sweet citrus", this matches this batch particularly well. It is certainly fresh and less rugged than some its preprocessors, which in turn were perhaps more reminiscent of the huge storm that gives the series its name.
Nose: Vanilla, citrus and gentle sea breeze. Sweet oak and a hint of anise.
Palate: Warming with nutmeg, sweet toasty spices and a little smoke.
Finish: All the elements hang on, citrus, vanilla, sea air, pepper and gentle smoke. Perhaps the best part.
Overall: Another wonderful bourbon aged Islay dram from Bowmore, but this time we seem to be in the eye of the storm rather than the crashing waves of the tempest.

Was "forced" to buy this bottle after having a dram at the distillery. I wasn't planning on buying a Bowmore but this changed my mind. A brilliant Islay whisky.
