Bowmore Black 31 1964 Bottling Note

Absurdly well-sherried single malt from Bowmore, distilled in 1964 and bottled in the 1990s as part of a trio of whiskies that have developed something of a reputation since their release. The word "legendary" gets used a lot when talking about them - that kind of reputation. This one was the final bottling of the three, and comes with its original wooden presentation case.

This bottle was part of a private collection - if you'd like more detailed photos just get in touch!

yes
A rather moreish yet unambiguous note of the nose to start. This is followed by a tremendous fullness of apple and blackberry pie. Sweet tones trail after the rather home feeling first sample.
Consecutive warmth carries on to a dark and ASHY flavour which subsides into a void like maple tone. Shame about the toenail floating in the bottle.

I have always found Scotch Whisky to be so independent and perhaps longing of separation of oppression.

Lovely Jubly.
