Boutique-y Bowmore #1 Bottling Note

This is the first batch of That Boutique-y Whisky Company’s Bowmore. This offering is a peaty style with a sherried streak running right through the middle of it.

‘That Boutique-y Whisky Company’ bottles single malts, single grains, bourbons, blended malts and blends from a variety of renowned distilleries. These whiskies are adorned with cultish graphic-novel-style labels.

This label features the distillery of Bowmore. Behind the outer wall sits the famous Malt Mobile. A cheeky schoolboy, clasping a bra, tears across the foreground chased by a life guard from the nearby pool, heated by the waste heat from Bowmore’s copper pot stills.

This is batch 1 - a release of 263 numbered bottles.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Phenolic peat hits the nose first followed by waves of dried fruits – notably sultanas, cranberries and dates – with a salty afterthought.

Palate: A velvety mouth-feel with drifting peat smoke and hints of iodine. Then there is a rush of candied citrus peels and masses of sherry-soaked dried fruit.

Finish: The finish is long and lingering with notes of beach bonfire smoke and dried apricot and pear.

Overall: Peat and sherry living together in perfect harmony.
