A 23 year old single malt from the Bowmore distillery, aged completely in port casks to compliment the floral and peaty flavours the Islay distillery is known for. Because it's such a special release, it is presented in a handsome crimson box.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: A fabulous smoke simmers above a warming stew of plums and oranges.

Palate: More peat develops on the palate, but it doesn't overwhelm the fruits within.

Finish: Drying and delicious.

Overall: Very good indeed. Bowmore fans, get ready for something spectacular with this one!

A delicious port cask matured Bowmore, we could do with a port cask Bowmore in the core range.

A collectors bottling

Very nice this one. The nose is a bit odd, kinda smells like ham straight from the fridge (...). Tastewise it's great though, the port and smoke works well. But not in my mind anywhere near enough to reflect the price tag. If you collect Bowmore or are a rich drunk then go for it. If not, look for better value elsewhere.
