An 11 year old Bowmore, distilled in September 2000 and aged in a sherry butt before bottling in November 2011. A rich, muscular malt, and part of a release of just 439 bottles.
Nose: Beeswax and rich Manuka honey, stewed fruits and black pepper. Rum spices.
Palate: A development of muscular sherried notes, big, zinging spicy top notes, salty butter and a touch of smoke coming off burnt sugar. Espresso beans and malt.
Finish: Long and full, hints of green tea and butterscotch on the tail, with just a hint of smoke.
