This is an independently bottled single malt from the Bowmore distillery, aged in a single hogshead cask from 1989 to 2016 before being bottled by the brilliant Wemyss Malts. To give you an idea of the flavour profile of this tasty Islay whisky, Wemyss have titled it 'Barbeque Mango Salsa'! Yum! A release of 234 bottles.
Nose: Seashells, dried herbs, smouldering oak and grilled tropical fruit.
Palate: Quite meaty (as the name suggests), developing into notes of dried fruit and apple slices.
Finish: Brown sugar, vanilla and fresh fruit.
