Blair Athol single malt Scotch whisky, which was distilled in 1997 and matured in refill Sherry hogsheads. In 2013, the chaps at Gordon & MacPhail decided this whisky was ready to join their Connoisseurs Collection - an illustrious, long-running range of independent bottlings.
Nose: Golden malt and plenty of light fruit notes - apples, pears and lemon zest.
Palate: Ripe banana, dark chocolate and a whiff of smoke.
Finish: Light but long.
Overall: Not overly Sherried, but plenty tasty never-the-less.
