Bladnoch was mothballed throughout the 1990s until the distillery was bought from United Distillers (now Diageo) and production recommenced in the year 2000. This bottling from Berry Brothers and Rudd was distilled in 1992 before United Distillers mothballed the distillery and is a great opportunity to try this Lowland single malt like it used to be.
The nose is floral with a herbaceous undercurrent that becomes more lemony with time in the glass. The palate is citrus focussed with zesty lemon and lime peel and a little fresh-cut grass. Finally, the finish is long and rewarding with notes of sherbet lemon.
