“I love Sherry Casks. But at first I was warry of this one, because the smell was very sharp and alcoholic, despite just 45%. Must admit though, the taste is very sweet, and it makes your head light as if it was all 60%. For 45GBP, it’s a no-brainer, and probably one of the best whiskeys from the Advent Calendar yet.”

Berry Bros. & Rudd Sherry Cask Matured - The Classic Range

The team at the legendary independent bottler Berry Brother's and Rudd specially selected a blend of sherry cask single malts to create this classic example of a well-sherried Scotch whisky.

It is one of the four offerings released as part of The Classic Range which was launched in the spring of 2018. It's great value for money and should be a treat for those who love a big sherry bomb.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose

Blood orange juice, brown sugar and dried fruit lead with a hint of charred pineapple and perhaps some rancio.

Palate

Black fruit compote, herbal tea and a little bitter dark chocolate. Seville orange marmalade and fiery cinnamon add depth.

Finish

Christmas cake notes remain.
