Berry Bros. & Rudd Islay

Part of the new 'The Classic Range', from Berry Bros. & Rudd, the Classic Islay Malt is the legendary wine and spirits merchant interpretation of the traditional whiskies we're grown to love from the Hebridean island of Islay.

The carefully selected blend of casks was sourced from some of the island's iconic distilleries by spirits buyer Doug McIvor to create a bottling with a balance, complexity and plenty of classic Islay flavour.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose Faint charcoal and iodine aromas blend with orchard fruit, custard and toasted oak.

Palate Full-bodied malt notes blend with hints of citrus blossom and white grapes. Cut grass, earthy vanilla pod and oily barley are present in the backdrop.

Finish Coastal smoke and a hint of brown sugar linger.

Reviews for Berry Bros. & Rudd Islay - The Classic Range
Money poorly spent
I am afraid that I am a dissenting voice amongst all the favourable reviews for this. Whilst this whisky is great on the nose, the taste is very underwhelming. I appreciate this is a NAS whisky, but it tastes seriously young and lacks any depth or complexity. Yes it's cheap, but seriously, you could save yourself a few quid and get a decent NAS single malt Islay.

The price is more than right!
This is probably the best blended islay I have ever tasted.Similar flavors to more expensive single malts, this is just gorgeous, one to keep coming back to,again and again!

Bargain bliss
This is the best blended islay I have ever tasted.Reminded me of Ardbeg 10 yr old, then elements of subtle fruit, melon and peach, subtle and an exquisite blend. An absolute steal for the price, gorgeous!

This is just glorious. And a steal for the price point. If you like any Islay, or a Campbelltown for that matter, you will be impressed.
