Single Malt
Scotland
1 Jan 2010

Ben Nevis Highland single malt Scotch whisky distilled in 2010 and then matured in two refill hogsheads for 14 years. It was presented by Thompson Brothers at a generous 51.3% ABV. with an outturn of 417 bottles.
Classic fruity and funky Ben. The nose has an industrial edge, akin to some white Jamaican rums. Some nettle, white chocolate, pencil shavings and brie. With time brings out some spices.
Dark chocolate, plums, green apples, and some peach and pear. There is some good weight to the distillate, with some waxes and chalky minerality.
Long, fruity and funky (par for the course).
