Ben Nevis 23yo TBWC Bottling Note

23 year old single malt from Ben Nevis, bottled by That Boutique-y Whisky Company! As you can see on the label, the Ben Nevis Distillery sits at the foot of the Ben Nevis mountain, meaning you can enjoy a glass of Ben Nevis while sitting on Ben Nevis and looking at Ben Nevis. At this point the words Ben Nevis have kind of lost meaning and just sort of feel like sounds instead of words. Never-the-less, the Boutique-y folks have got their hands on a particularly grand single malt from this ace Highland distillery!

Batch 10 is a release of 558 bottles.

‘That Boutique-y Whisky Company’ bottles single malts, single grains and bourbons from a variety of renowned distilleries as well as producing award-winning blended malts and blends. These whiskies are adorned with cultish graphic novel-style labels.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Caramelised pineapple, dried citrus peel and a hint of old coins initially, then Carnation Caramel, coffee icing, smoked meats and a little cheese.

Palate: Rounded and quite chewy, with butterscotch, hazelnut cream and a sparkle of oak spice. There are tropical fruits and a little dark chocolate bitterness amongst some classic Ben Nevis funk - pastrami and engine oil this time - underneath.

Finish: Boiled citrus sweets, gingersnaps and cough syrup.
