A 9 year old from Balmenach, distilled in November 2002 and aged in refill hogshead 8555 before bottling in May 2012. Un-chillfiltered and at 50%abv from Douglas Laing's Old Malt Cask range.
Nose: Spiced nose, with hints of violets and rose petal jelly. A little black pepper too.
Palate: Malty and rich, rum spice, heather, hints of soft smoke, nutmeg and coffee beans.
Finish: Long finish with rubbed petals and treacle.
