Balblair 9yo 2009 MoM

We've bottled up this cracking nine-year-old Balblair single malt, especially for our exclusive Master of Malt collection! Founded in 1790, Balblair is one of Scotland's oldest distilleries, tucked away in the rugged, mountainous landscape of the northern Highlands. Today, only a small amount of the distillery's output is released as single malt, but thankfully, indie bottlers like yours truly are still able to get their hands on impressive expressions like this. A release of 309 bottles.

Reviews for Balblair 9 Year Old 2009 (Master of Malt)
Cracker for the price
For the money, I thought this was great.

Agree with the other comment about a slack lack of complexity, but for what it was I really enjoyed it.

Soft sweet start, followed by a robust-but-not-overwhelming alcohol hit, that then mellows into nice citrus spice, with enough on the finish to keep it interesting.

Lemon sherbet
Has a strong taste of boiled lemon sherbet sweets. Very hot and not particular complex but at £45 for a cask strength, non-chillfiltered, age stated Balblair you can't go wrong. Especially if you like lemon sherbets!
