The second edition of Balblair 2000, a classic Highland dram which was relaunched in 2007. A very fruity, creamy whisky aged in American bourbon oak barrels.
Nose: Sweet and creamy with notes of tropical fruits (coconut, pineapple, guava) and custard. A touch of sweet malt, manuka honey and granary toast.
Palate: Honeyed and malty palate with vanilla upfront, notes of coconut again, melon and toffee apple.
Finish: Long and spicy with cinnamon and barley.

Very exotic nose with predominant pineapple, nice coconut taste if You hold whiskey long in Your mouth. I wish finish was more complex (I can feel only cinnammon and malt). Albeit considering price and very rare exotic character this is a very good dram!
