Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Raisins, dates, blackcurrants and a touch of crushed hazelnuts. Thick treacle and honey, with a little hint of rosewater too. A waft of damp wood.

Palate: Layers and layers of plump sultanas and raisins, dusted with chilli chocolate. Slightly herbal, followed by a touch bit of bonfire smoke.

Finish: Well balanced on the finish with fig and mint leaf. Drying and long.

Aultmore 25 Year Old 1990 - Single Cask (Master of Malt) Reviews

Massively rich, hugely raisined deliciously rich and an absolute smasher.

Absolutely wonderful (for my taste)

One of the best I've tried; however, this is not a fresh and light Scotch. Nose is definitely oily. Heavy and syrupy, with a load of sweetness given the strength. Rich citrus, brown sugar/caramel, heavily sherried, and the smoke is there in the background. Other stuff mentioned above?...sure, why not. Reminiscent of the Benrinnes 23 Year Old 1985, or maybe a bit of the Nàdurra Oloroso crossed with a Companta (now that's wacky to consider).
