Palate: Oily, nuttiness. Dry and rounded with sugared peels.
Finish: Apricot conserve on granary toast with dry citrus notes.

Great for lowland fans.

I don't think it offers much. It's an easy drink, but nothing exciting here. A little of this, a little of that and not a lot of anything.

Love it. Easy to drink and it is very tasty. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed every drop of this. But I also would enjoy a cup of brown sugar and molasses with a smooth alcohol kick, which is what this is. For the price I expect a little something, well, "unexpected". I'm going back to Yamazaki 18.

The nose was filled with brown sugar and spring flowers. The taste was vanilla and brown sugar, smooth and easy. The finish leaned towards a warm honey and went down velvety. A good drink.

The Aberlour 18 was my previous staple among non-smokey, not-overly-sherried Scotches. This is a big step up. (I've never tried the Toshan 18). In fact I think it's perhaps a perfect whisky. Very molasses, brown-sugary. There are *no* off flavors--no unnecessary malt, no tobacco, no cardboard. And just enough alcohol burn to accentuate the flavors. The only thing that could perhaps make it better is higher bottling strength. I note some sites call this a "special release"; I hope it stays around for a long time.

The profile on this is all hot fudge sundae. Vanilla, chocolate, nuts, honey, caramel, maple. Light on alcohol. Very good if you like that kind of thing. Comparable to the much cheaper Bushmills 21, but a bit lighter and without the tobacco. I rarely get $150+ bottles. Not sure this is worth it, but it *is* fairly unique per things I've tried. I'm a bit sad it'll be a while before I get to try this again. Surprised this is a sherry cask. Don't taste too much sherry at all.
