This Isle of Arran single malt was rather lavishly finished in a Grand Cru Champagne cask and the release has been limited to just 307 bottles. It was awarded a bronze medal in 2005 by Malt Maniacs.
Nose: Dry, slight hints of barley and oak, but very faint.
Palate: Dry and has a bitter oaked character. Unsurprisingly, this one's quite vinous with wood tannins. A good balance between the mid sweet Arran malt and the contrasting grace of the Champagne cask.
Finish: A little flat, with quiet cereal notes and a whisper of white wine.
