A wonderful 2004 vintage from the Isle of Arran distillery, this little gem was distilled using Bere barley (a very old strain of barley which has been used traditionally for centuries) grown on Orkney.
Nose: Rich, creamy malt and dried grass. Hints of soft honey, a little cooked fruit and notes of chewy oak.
Palate: Apple peel and ground almond. Big oak, with a development of baking spices. Gooey malt core with potpourri.
Finish: Long, spiced finish. Very malty.

Bought for me as a present. This is truly a lovely malt. Very distinctive and individual malt and love the history behind it.
