One of four independent bottlings of Arran single malt Scotch whisky from French bottler, Thompson's, all finished in Sauternes casks from Château la Bouade. This one was from cask 1834, and has been bottled at 18 years old with an ABV of 52.9%.
Nose: Lots of orange blossom and tangerine segments, along with a balancing note of fresh, creamy barley.
Palate: Juicy notes from the sweet wine casks come to the fore on the palate, with white grape, honey and candied ginger. Slightly tropical, too.
Finish: Ginger spiciness, with a hint of sweet (though hot) cinnamon.
