This tasty little rascal comes from the distillery on the Isle of Arran, and was matured for 17 years in one cask, before being bottled by Master of Malt (that's us). It matured in a refill hogshead from August 1996 to February 2014, when we produced 100 bottles of excellent whisky, brimming with complexity.
"lovely, composed malt and, though the passing years are starting to stretch its finer points, this is still a work of whisky art."- Jim Murray (94 Points)
Nose: Apple slices, apricot and lemon. Yoghurt, spice and even meaty notes.
Palate: Delicious oak that had been hiding comes into its own with pear, peach, a hint of tropical fruit and some Arran sand dune character.
Finish: Good length and well rounded with oak spice, warm sand and fruit tang too.
Overall: A fruity, complex and wonderfully matured 17 year old Arran single malt.

Sold out of bottles, so I ordered a sample just to say I tried it and definitely top marks on this one! From a neat pour the tasting notes above are SPOT ON, even down to the meaty notes in the nose. The finish at first appeared sharp and overly oaked and dry, but this vanished quickly after subsequent sips. Amazing smoothness, complexity, and absence of heat in a neat pour at 53.6%. Simply superb!Looking for samples? This is one I'd recommend trying.
