Distilled in 1996, this is a superb single cask whisky from the Isle of Arran. It was aged in sherry cask number 1968 for 15 years before bottling and there are just 263 bottles.
Nose: Sweet, jammy nose with notes of dried apricots and dessert wine. A touch of dry oak, candied orange peel and soft spices.
Palate: Rounded, creamy malt with hints of spice, steamed pudding and salted butter. Apricot jam, plum wine and hints of granary toast with honey.
Finish: Corinth raisins, allspice and salt caramels.

Bought this a while ago and so glad I kept it. Finding a lot of bottles I have saved discontinued so will def hold onto this for a while -Ash

Sorry to see that this one has been discontinued. It's delicious. A real gem of a dessert dram. Never would have suspected it was almost 54%! Preferred without water. Big plums, raisins, some ripe bananas, thick syrupy palette-coating goodness - like a heavily brandied fortified dessert wine. Lasting sweet finish with full spirit but no burn. A tremendous value and one to remember! (Hopefully there's some more from this cask hiding somewhere!)
