A 40% ABV-variation on the Ardmore Traditional Peated single malt Scotch whisky, which is initially aged American oak barrels before being finished in quarter casks.
Burnt sugar and toasted malt, with layers of light peat smoke.
Sweetness of vanilla and barley sugar blend well with earthy peat.
Petrichor and honey'd cereal.
Excellent balance of peat. Much milder than the heavy weights Laphroaig, Lagavulin and Caol Ila.
Nose: Dawn whispy peat. Palate: Drowned sweetened peat. Oddly there is grass. After: The peat glides you out and its short and sweet peat.
My sister bought this by mistake for me in Dubai Airport, I asked for the Legacy, But I really love it and of course it is much higher quality than the Legacy which is regularly on offer in Asda and Tesco for £20.
Ha ha, Dewars is what I occasionally buy....my son had a layover in Ireland following a deployment recently. He brought me a liter of this. Tried a sip, neat, an explosion of flavor with tingling in the throat....
Probably one of the nicer peat whiskeys I've had. Will definitely be buying this again!
