Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose Citrus moves aside to reveal creamy chestnuts and sweet tobacco leaf with smokier notes developing.

Palate Mixed nuts and fantastic, smoky peat.

Finish Walnut Whip, coffee cake and layers of charred barbecue goodness go on and on.

Overall Smoky, charred Ardbeg that stays with you.

Much better than batch 3. I got this as a gift and its a great dram. Smoky and peaty but nicely balanced with a bit of sweetness and some fruit. The tasting notes say nutty but I didn't get that. A few drops of water help it.

A really nice whisky, smoky and peaty as you would expect but also has a nutty sweetness. I wish I'd bought 2 bottles !!

Batch 4
An interesting Ardbeg. I've just had my first dram from this bottle of batch 4. It is classic Arbeg with smoke and peat but nice layers with some fruit and nut going on. More complex than I expected.
