Fusion is a particularly apt name for this fantastic single malt whisky from Amrut. Y'see, it's made with barley grown in India, where the Amrut Distillery can be found, as well as peated barley from Scotland! Makes sense, right? Not just a clever name, it's also a cracking whisky, offering up generous helpings of fresh fruit, honey, spice and a good whiff of smoke.
Rich, barley, fruity. Big on citrus, spices, creamy sweetness. A hint of peat.
Oaky, rich, gentle peat, coffee, dark chocolate. Fruity.
Long, spiced, marmalade, sweetness.
I have tested verities of whiskies, single grain, blended, sweet, flavored etc. But then my friend send me a bottle of Amrut Fusion. I found it very interesting: it tests, leads towards a very easy and soft woodiness with a touch of earthy peat that’s more like cold ashes than smoke. A really great whisky from my country.
Great. Could get hold of a bottle after much running around. But was totally worth it. Yet to drink a more flavorful drink. Just loved it. A great Indian Single Malt, worth the weight in gold. ?
Superb taste ,very soft I think from today onwards I am the fan of Amrut fusion I loved it.
Amazing one request rap up the production cheers
Delightfully warm and peaty without being harsh to the palate. A delightful caramel/toffee sweetness finish. My first foray into in Indian whiskey, and I’m glad I did so. Can’t wait to try more from Amrut.
