Dancing cows? House of Pain? A river full of milk?! It must be That Boutique-y Whisky Company's second independent bottling of Allt-á-Bhainne single malt Scotch whisky! The Whisky Squad are on the label once again, represented as the funkiest herd of cows you've ever seen (because Allt-á-Bhainne means 'River of Milk'). But what's with the boom-box blasting 'Jump Around'? Well, Allt-á-Bhainne (say 'ollt-err-vane') sounds a little bit like House of Pain. It all makes sense, yes? Yes.
Batch 2 is a release of 40 bottles.
‘That Boutique-y Whisky Company’ bottles single malts, single grains, blended malts, single grains, bourbons and blends from a variety of renowned distilleries. These whiskies are adorned with cultish graphic-novel-style labels.
Nose: Milky coffee develops into soft fudge as it opens up. Pineapple rings, a little lavender and a quick waft of roasted green peppers too.
Palate: Soft and creamy, with a helping of cinnamon and black pepper to balance. Thick custard and Victoria sponge cake appear later on.
Finish: The last slice of Victoria sponge continues, accompanied by lemon curd on granary toast.
Overall: "It's comin' to get ya, it's comin' to get ya... So get out your seats and jump around!"

It is spelt "Allt a' Bhainne" and is pronounced "ult a van-ya". Means burn of the milk or milky burn. The distillery was named after the burn of that name. Incidentally there are no hyphens in the name and no accents.Good to see it on sale though. Am very tempted!
