Aberlour A'Bunadh #49 Bottling Note
Batch 49 of Aberlour's A'Bunadh looks to continue the cask strength, well Sherried awesomeness that we all love from the series. As ever, this Highland single malt Scotch whisky was matured in Spanish Oloroso Sherry butts and comes at a rather sturdy ABV, with batch 49 weighing in at 60.1%. These releases are always eagerly awaited and greatly enjoyed indeed - we love 'em.

Aberlour A'Bunadh Batch 49 Reviews
I'm Impressed
This is a wonderful scotch. I took a chance on this one, not having tried it before hand and I must say that I don't regret it one bit. Very smooth with a taste of citrus, raisins and cinnamon on the palate, with a moderately long after taste. The alcohol isn't as prominent in the taste as one might expect for such a high ABV and it isn't overbearing. It's a tad sweeter than other scotches I've tasted recently, but it works wonders for this particular blend.
All in all, I think I will be returning to the Aberlour A'bunadh series for years to come.

Outstanding
This is a beautiful whisky, and not for the faint of heart. I prefer it undiluted. Sip this whisky to truly enjoy it. Definitely my new favorite whisky.

Excellent
This batch 49 is right at the top of the series. Smooth and filled with flavors, to be savoured undiluted, what a quality Aberlour have put in this batch. Even if you do not prefer sherry you want to give this a'Bunadh a try. IMHO an A+

Nothing special
First Aberlour I've tried and I like it - but nothing special. No age statement nd probably a tad too young for my liking. Just leaves the whisky feeling not very complex. Heavily sherried (if you like that kind of thing). Good for the price.

I'm now an Aberlour man.
For anyone who prefers a rich, dark, full bodied scotch. For anyone who prefers Spice and Sweet vs. Oak and Smoke... for anyone who is not concerned with the age but likes to keep price reasonable... this might be your new favorite scotch. My new go-to.

Oh no. I'm in trouble.
I'm in big big trouble. This drink will be the end of me. Lovely, lovely dram with sultanas and spice and a sherry influence that is perfectly balanced. Not too sweet. It is a fantastic thing to drink.

I said I would review this earlier again so here goes , what a wonderful smooth whiskey this is but I need to add a fair bit of cold spring water or a splash and a cube of ice but what a metamorphic transformation happens when you do , this is a Christmas fireside whiskey , just don't keep the bottle too far to save getting up , I will buy some more of this soon as I'm just finishing the second bottle !! wonderful silky smooth just find your own level of water or even a good slash with a cube of ice and enjoy
