Bottled by our fair hands here at Master of Malt, this is a single cask release of Aberlour single malt Scotch whisky, distilled in 1992 and matured for 20 years in cask 4955. There was an outturn of 491 numbered, cask strength bottles, free from chill filtration or artificial colouring and full of red and green apple yumminess!
Nose: Green apples and honey lead into red apples and cinnamon. New leather, salted shortbread and maraschino notes with meringue.
Palate: Initial white pepper slowly reveals baked and green apples before gentle oak takes hold.
Finish: Fading pepper and a late note of apple sauce near the start of a long, drying oak finish.
Overall: Creamy, slightly spicy, apple and oak character. Truly delicious.
