A real taste in whiskey, that just flows down your taste channels with ease.

Beginning harsh bite overpowers any flavors, little sweetness, lingering flavors are pleasant. The bottle I had does not have the smoothness of other highland single malts.

This was given DG at SF Spirits competition in 2014. I can see why. Smooth, complex, lightly explosive in mouth, and great caramel, vanilla, honey notes. Can't believe this is under forty!

....Mum's people were from Gigha, so I'm genetically pre-dispositioned I think to enjoy a good Islay, BUT, my word--I do like the Aberlour 12 and all of the a'Bunadh!! AND to the person below that prefers JW Red Label over Aberlour 12...next time try it without ice cubes and Coca Cola!!!....philistine

Delightful Dram. Anyone who doesn't rate it cannot be a whisky lover.

Tastes more like a low-end cognac than a good single malt. My pallette must not be a fan of the sherry cask. Will not be purchasing again.

The start is pretty great, the finish sweet and spicy and long. But right in the middle is a strange alcohol burn that I do not associate with single malt. Its like someone poured Jim beam into a really nice (but unexceptional) single malt. I'm really puzzled but this is my first Aberlour. Does anyone agree with me about this? or did I just get a bad bottle?
