Batch 40 of the much sought-after Aberlour a'Bunadh. Described as a respectful toast to Aberlour's founder, James Fleming, this stunning whisky is produced in the style of the 19th Century whiskies once made at the distillery. It is beautiful whisky, aged in Spanish Oloroso Sherry Butts, with neither colouring nor chill-filtration. Just pure, unadulterated whisky, with an incredibly spicy flavour. We love it.

I rreceived a bottle as a gift and researched the batch here. o counteract to bad flavor, and filtered the whiskey through a britta filter 3 times.Made a world of difference in the flavor.

What else is there to say, this one is extremely bitter and has less sherry than older batches. It tastes to me like some cheaper third party trying to forge the original. Man, how did I look forward to another bottle of this - otherwise almost always, despite natural quality fluctuations - great whisky. To all the folks out there, who don't know A'bunadh yet: THIS ONE IS NOT REPRESENTATIVE OF A'BUNADH!!! Inform yourself of good batches, there are plenty out there. All A'bunadh lovers please heed my earnest warning: This is nasty stuff, makes me wonder if there were any production mishaps! :-(

I had run out of my Tomatin here in Hawaii...what to do. The folks at the local store recommended this Aberlour and what a surprise it was. Even stocked up on a few bottles.
