A litre bottle of 15 year old Aberlour, this was matured in a mix of bourbon and sherry casks.
Nose: Grassy, with a charming oily, nutty texture. Gentle peat but with good sweetness.
Palate: Nutty, creamy sherry and cinnamon.
Finish: Toffee led, long, buttery finish, just a whisper of smoke.
Overall: Superb balance.

Perfectly peated , gives that hint of the auld along with the body and texture of the new. Rich toffee finish leaves you wanting another taste.

Yes, the nose has a nutty texture, and it's some grassy with gentle peat. The nose also has sweet sherried oranges and dark plums. The palate keeps some bourbon, but the sherry is dominating. Creamy, nutty and kisses from cinnamon. Gentle oakyness. Hints of spice. The finish is not too long. It's rather medium, toffee led and buttery. Just a small and sweet whisper of smoke somewhere in the depth. I like this whisky. It's not on the top, but I'll buy it again. For example, it would really be respectable enough on the table after a good dinner with the family.

Nose .. Sweet honey and lots of orange, citrusComing from a booming exploding talisker, the Aberlour is is gente and the body is light. Very smooth.. Body consist mostly on toffee, some chocolate and a hint of smoke. The short finisch is nutty and more toffee can be found here. Very gentle and smooth, if that is your thing you will be pleased here. Maybe a 43% alcohol perc would suit it fine. As a matter of fact i am enjoying it juyst fine right now! 4 out of 5!
