Aberfeldy's superbly packaged "Bits of Strange Malt Whisky" was aged in a sherry-seasoned cask for 16 years before bottling at cask-strength. It was launched to commemorate King Creosote and FOUND's November 2012 Bits of Strange Homecomings Tour of Scotland. There are just 318 bottles available.
Nose: Furniture wax and honey. A little spice, blossom and custard apples.
Palate: Toasted oak, fruitcake and caramel. Vanilla and honeysuckle, a little peppermint.
Finish: Tannic, oaky finish with sherried peels, Christmas cake and walnuts.
Overall: A caramel-rich, toasty whisky.
