A tasty Highland dram, this was distilled at Aberfeldy on the 7th June 1994, aged in hogshead 4030 and bottled after 17 years on the 10th January 2012. A rich, peppery malt and a release of 288 bottles at natural cask strength.
Nose: Creamy vanilla, fresh flowers, cornflakes, oak and beeswax. Toffee apple too, and baked pears.
Palate: Sweet and very spicy with notes of stem ginger in syrup, cinnamon and maybe even a suggestion of turmeric. Malty and fruity, notes of vanilla and a faint note of wood smoke.
Finish: Long and rich finish with maple syrup and nutmeg.
