2015 Vintage Whisky

Whisky and climate change

The Paris Agreement, a global commitment to combat climate change, was adopted by 196 countries, signalling hope for our planet's future. The U.S. legalized same-sex marriage nationwide, marking a significant step for LGBTQ+ rights. "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" premiered, rekindling a beloved saga for new generations.

Whisky enthusiasts had their own milestones to celebrate, with the introduction of Glenfiddich's Experimental Series, which included the IPA Experiment and Project XX. These releases symbolized a departure from tradition and appealed to a younger, experimental audience. Meanwhile, Redbreast launched the Lustau Edition, a unique pot still Irish whiskey matured in Oloroso sherry casks from Bodegas Lustau.

Among independent bottlers, The Single Cask stepped into the limelight with their selections that emphasized single cask, natural presentation. These bottlings were limited in number but high in quality, appealing to those who sought unique whisky experiences. The Creative Whisky Company also caught the eye of enthusiasts with their Exclusive Malts range, featuring limited releases from a variety of distilleries. As 2015 closed, whisky continued to prove its resilience and adaptability, shining even in a world filled with challenges and changes.
