Roku Sakura Bloom Gin is the first in a new collection of seasonal expressions from the Japanese producer, The House of Suntory, inspired by Japan's traditional festivals and celebrations of each season.
This edition captures the freshness and brightness of springtime and the Hanami festival – Japan's famous cherry blossom season. It includes six Japanese botanicals that offer up an elegant profile with delicate florals and subtle sweetness that'll make the perfect gin for your customers to enjoy as those longer spring days draw near.
Roku Sakura Bloom
This limited-edition gin from Japanese producer Roku celebrates the transient beauty of sakura flowers with a combo of six uniquely Japanese botanicals. Sakura blossom and leaves take the fore, backed by yuzu peel, sansho pepper, sencha tea, and gyokuro tea alongside Roku's classic botanicals, offering up a gently sweet, delicately floral profile – it's Japanese spring in a glass!
Tasting Notes
Nose:
Soft, floral notes of orchard blossom, fresh herbs, and peppery juniper.
Palate:
Delicate, fruity sweetness, with gentle layers of floral tea, and subtle salinity beneath
Finish:
A touch of citrus and warming pepper join lingering layers of sweet blossom.
Roku Hanami Fizz
A twist on a classic gin and fizz cocktail recipe, Roku Hanami Fizz puts the complex beauty of Japan on full display. This floral-forward and refreshing drink is perfect for an outdoor setting.
Ingredients
4 Fresh raspberries
4 Fresh ginger slices
150ml Lemonade
1 Sakura cherry blossom to garnish
Method
1. In a highball glass add the raspberries, ginger, and Roku Sakura Bloom Gin. Press and muddle to combine.
2. Fill the glass ¾ full with cubed ice. Top up with lemonade and stir to combine. Garnish with a Sakura cherry blossom for garnish. .
