Calle 23 Reposado 70cl Bottling Note

The Reposado expression from the Calle 23 range. A 100% agave tequila which spends up to 8 months maturing in ex-bourbon casks to take on a touch of those warming, vanilla-y, subtly oak-y notes that we look for in a good Reposado. This one took home a Gold Medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition 2009.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Wood spices float up from the glass first, lively and fresh.

Palate: Fairly light for an aged tequila, though still rich with cooked peppers, fresh herbs and a sweet note of figs at the end.

Finish: A short finish.

Overall: The Calle 21 Reposado is great for sipping on a sunny afternoon.

Being in this industry, I have tried out quite a few tequilas, and especially reposados, which are my personal favorites: they offer a subtle marriage between the tastes of the agave and the cask.
Now, focussing on Calle 23 Reposado: it is exceptionally tasty, balanced and subtle. I particularly enjoy the cinnamon and vanilla notes (once again, very subtle) this beverage offers!
