Antique Martinez – 1970s - Batch 1

Antique Martinez Batch 1 Bottling Note

Gibley's Gin from the 1970s; Punt E Mes, Martini Rosso and Rosso Antico also from the 1970s, and a dash of Luxardo Maraschino from the 1960s, all mixed together into a Martinez cocktail you can pour straight from the bottle without the hassle of mixing it yourself - happy days.

The concept of the ‘Vintage Cocktail’ range is simple – you get all the ingredients for a superb cocktail pre-mixed, all you have to do is pour it over ice, stir, then strain off into your glass and garnish (in this instance with a twist of lemon peel). Each bottle carries a stamp showing its year of manufacture.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: The nose is dominated by juniper and cherries but tempered with a little orange peel and mascerated red fruits.

Palate: Red grapes, raisins, tangerine zest and baked apples with a smooth, silky mouthfeel.

Finish: Mixed herbs, rosemary and coriander at first leading to black cherries and pepper as the cocktail slowly fades away.

Overall: A perfect cocktail for those who don't favour the drier martini or for those who fancy a change. Factor in the antique nature of its ingredients and you have one sublime drink.
