A vodka liqueur based on the delicious bloody mary, Bloodshot is made from pure grain spirit, distilled seven times, with various extracts and botanicals added.
It can be drunk either neat or on the rocks, or as an 'instant' bloody mary - just add tomato juice and a celery stick.
Nose: It's peppery all right, with strong celery and chilli notes. There's red berries and a tiny hint of sweetness which we guess comes from the port.
Palate: Not as hot as the nose suggests, and it's more a peppery heat than chilli. There's pronounced celery and lemon notes with a berry sweetness.
Finish: Lasting and peppery with an oaky port sweetness.
Overall: An interesting creation, no doubt delicious over ice, but also rather good as a shot. Almost like a gateway drink to a full blown bloody mary.
