Kanpai Sumi Sake Bottling Note

Here we have a sake from the UK's first sake brewery, Kanpai! In Japanese, 'kanpai', a way of saying cheers, literally means 'dry your cup', so it's clear these guys have one mission! Sumi sake is produced in Peckham and made from just four ingredients - rice (specifically Gohyakumangoku rice), water, yeast and koji. Ideal to sip after work, with a meal or after dinner.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Fairly full bodied and smooth, with notes of tropical fruit and caramelised nuts.

Kanpai Sumi Sake Reviews

Unique from typical Japanese sake but delicious nonetheless. Would order again.

Great quality - chilled and warm

Got this for Christmas and really surprised at how delicious it is! We tried it warmed up too and it was great.

Yeah a little on the dry side initially, but it has a decent finish. Not bad.

Glad I tried something new!

Quite new to sake but loved this! Tasted lots like melon and went well with a cheese plate!
