Wood's Navy Rum Bottling Note

A Demerara rum distilled from sugar cane grown in Guyana, blended in the style of old navy rums. Woods is a pot still rum and the packaging has been the same for fifty years.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

The nose is sweet and rich with notes of winter spice, butterscotch, pepper, wood and Demerara. The palate is full and rich with winter spice and vanilla cream. There are notes of molasses and Demerara with a syrupy mouthfeel. The finish is long and sweet

Only one better

Just as in JUST topped, in my very humble opinion, by Pussers blue. Mind tomorrow my opinion might change. Always. Both in the cupboard. Woods is so lovely and dark, so rich looking. Christmas without it is inconceivable. My grandfather's Christmas favourite, had me sampling it when knee high, in his honour I will be having a glass or two on the 25th.

Like finding an old friend!

First found in a nasty little backstreet bar in Vancouver, BC, I have been searching for this wonderful ambrosia since 1975. Thought it had a gold label, but like orange squash, things change...

Woods navy rum gold label

I was raised on woods the rum with the big gold label . While at the liquer store buying a bottle I met a woman buying the same, it's been 20 years and we are still together. But all of a sudden it was out of stock so we have searched every liquer store and old obscure pubs all over the lower mainland hoping to find that one old dusty bottle of woods old navy rum with the gold label, please help me find one or a case as it's in our blood and that's getting thin. bear.bones@hotmail.com

woods rum

After many years of taking a glass of rum, as a long drink usually with lemonade, as a nightcap, I discovered Woods - not only does it have an excellent flavour (it's quite a treat to 'nose' it from the bottle), but surprisingly, because it's strength makes me dilute it more than common brands, I find that it costs no more! If you like rum - you'll love Woods!
